Dr. Cosgrove completed his medical degree at University College Dublin (MB BCh BaO) in 2008. Following graduation and internship in Dublin, he spent a year working in Emergency Medicine in Australia prior to returning to Ireland to complete his BST in General Medicine. During the following 10 years while working in large Dublin based teaching hospitals he became interested in Allergy Medicine and specialised in this area.
Dr. Cosgrove spent time participating in high quality immunology based research as a Research Fellow at the prestigious Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. On his return to Ireland he spent several further years working in both Adult and Paediatric Hospitals in Dublin where he earned membership of the ICGP. He is a member of the British Society of Allergy & Clinical Immunology (BSACI). Dr. Cosgrove joined Allergy Ireland in 2020.
In his spare time Dr. Cosgrove plays soccer for the St. Vincent's medical soccer team and he has represented the Irish medical soccer team overseas.
He is very popular with patients and staff.
